Drosia

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Drosia: a little cat miracle, a common roof cat with a ragdoll character. Kicia is calm and gentle, extremely trusting, patient and compliant. She loves company and close contact with humans. Drosia was supposed to be one-eyed, but one of our volunteers insisted and the eye is as good as new. Drosia went to work with her so that she could give her the right medication every 20 minutes. Also, Drosia can write @ in two languages and answer phones. In the evening and night hours, one of our super volunteers came to Drosi and also gave the medicine. The eye is completely healed, Drosia is the kindest little cat in our history and is looking for a home that doesn't go out.

About Drosia

What life with Drosia looks like

Drosia is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at IDZ — Inicjatywa Dla Zwierząt in Zielona Góra.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Drosia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Drosia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. IDZ — Inicjatywa Dla Zwierząt handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Drosia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Drosia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — IDZ — Inicjatywa Dla Zwierząt will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Drosia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Drosia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with IDZ — Inicjatywa Dla Zwierząt early rather than rehoming privately; they know Drosia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
