Druid

Male · Young · 3 years

Druid is a big black dog with a huge heart and even more energy. He is still waiting at the shelter for his home - yet he is exactly the kind of companion that you will never get bored with. He loves movement, space and everything that can be explored. His nose works at full power - every walk is a little detective mission for him, where he has to find out what was rustling where and who walked by. And if water appears during that? He's won. Puddles, stream or bowl - Druid simply loves water. He is a smart and sensitive dog who already knows basic commands and continues to learn nicely. At first, on a leash he pulls, especially when excited that he is going out - but once he calms down a bit, he can concentrate and cooperate. He is very friendly and affectionate towards people, he is full of joy and desire to be part of things. For Druid we are looking for a home ideally near a cottage with a garden, where he will have enough space to move and burn off energy. At the same time, however, he needs a person who will continue to guide him and give his energy direction. Druid is a golden retriever, who just hasn't had luck yet. And yet it's so little - give him a chance and he will return it with everything.

CS·Show original

A přitom stačí tak málo – dát mu šanci a on vám to vrátí úplně vším.

About Druid

What life with Druid looks like

Druid is a large young adult dog waiting at Útulek Přerov in Přerov-Přerov 2.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Druid, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Druid?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Útulek Přerov handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Druid on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Druid if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Útulek Přerov will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Druid already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Druid isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Útulek Přerov early rather than rehoming privately; they know Druid and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
