adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Ducky has found a home! His story: Ducky is our cheerful heartbreaker on four legs, who immediately wraps everyone around his paw with his curious, open nature. At just under 5 months old, the sunbeam loves discovering new things and being right in the middle of everything – whether playing, running, or cuddling. Ducky is a lively young puppy who now wants to start a species-appropriate life. He brings great genes with him – his mother Marianne already lives happily in a family and shows herself there as a gentle, loving female dog. Ducky is also about to grow from a puppy to a young dog. His dream: to quickly get out of the shelter and into a home full of warmth, affection, and shared adventures. He wants to explore the world with his people, go to dog training classes, learn the dog ABC, and meet many new doggy friends. Unfortunately, his story begins in a very sad place: Ducky was rescued together with his siblings and mother by animal rescuers from an abandoned sheep stall in Romania – a place full of suffering and pain. Many dogs there were injured or sick, and Ducky unfortunately suffered a shortened tail. But despite his sweet, fluffy, black-and-white coat with black spots and his mischievously sparkling eyes, he is still a wonderful little treasure who conquers hearts in a storm. Despite his difficult start in life, Ducky has never lost his cheerfulness. Like his brothers and sisters, he is friendly to people and gets along well with other dogs. He doesn't know life in a house yet, but Ducky is curious, open, and ready to learn everything step by step – perhaps with the help of positive dog training classes. A confident only dog would be nice, but is not a prerequisite. Ducky probably hasn't met any cats yet. When he grows up, he is expected to be medium to large. Maybe you are exactly the person who wants to go through life with Ducky and share many adventures! Ducky can now travel microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and of course with his EU pet passport. Many thanks to Tim R.! You gave Ducky his name! Date: 26.08.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Tim R.! Du hast Ducky seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 26.08.2025

About Ducky

What life with Ducky looks like

Ducky is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ducky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ducky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ducky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ducky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ducky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ducky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ducky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
