Duffy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Name: Duffy Gender: Female Breed: Jindo-Mix Born: ca. 01.04.2025 Weight: ca. 14.8 kg neutered & vaccinated: Yes Duffy is a very special female dog – calm, sensitive, and full of quiet love. Her start in life was far from beautiful: she spent her time tied to a short chain on a piece of land filled with suffering and neglect. Together with several other dogs, she was eventually rescued by WEACT and given the chance at a new life. Despite everything, Duffy has not lost her trust in people. With strangers, she is initially cautious and prefers to observe from a safe distance. But if given time and allowed to adjust at her own pace, she shows an incredibly loving and affectionate side. Once Duffy has built trust, she actively seeks the company of her people. If you stop petting her, she gently nudges with her paw, as if to say, "Please just a little more." These small moments make Duffy a dog who goes straight to your heart. She also gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She brings a calm, peaceful energy and fits harmoniously into different dog personalities. Whether as a single dog or in a multi-dog household – Duffy feels at ease wherever she is, as long as she feels love and security. Duffy loves quiet walks and a regulated daily routine. She doesn’t need big adventures – what’s much more important to her are familiar paths, gentle people, and relaxed shared time. She enjoys soft blankets, yummy snacks, and simply the feeling of finally belonging. For Duffy, we wish for a quiet home with patient people who understand that some dogs need a little time to fully open their hearts. Whoever gives her this time will receive an incredibly loyal, gentle, and loving companion for life. 💛🐶 Images & Videos of Duffy:

About Duffy

What life with Duffy looks like

Duffy is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at German Hands meet Korean Paws e.V. in Ebstorf.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Duffy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Duffy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. German Hands meet Korean Paws e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Duffy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Duffy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — German Hands meet Korean Paws e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Duffy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Duffy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with German Hands meet Korean Paws e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Duffy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
