The male dog came to us as a private surrender, having already passed through several hands. Now, we wish more than ever to find him a permanent place where he can rest and settle in for good. Typical of his breed, Duke brings the distinctive appearance of the Old English Bulldog: robustly built, muscular, and imposing—yet, on the inside, a sensitive and very people-oriented dog. Old English Bulldogs are known for their close bond with their trusted people, their loyalty, and their cuddly, often clownish nature. At the same time, they are sensitive characters who react strongly to their environment and need clear structures and reliable people to orient themselves around. Duke is a true emotional dog. Sounds, hectic situations, or stress can quickly unsettle him. In such moments, he reacts nervously and can also lunge or snap if everything becomes too much for him.
