Dundee

Mixed Breed Β· Male Β· Senior Β· 9 years

Dundee is another fortunate soul saved from a UK pound. We are unaware of his background, so can only tell you what we know. Dundee is a Miniature Pinscher dog who appreciates being left alone while he eats his meals. While he was out on tea-break with us, he just sat and watched as we were eating biscuits. He did not attempt to snatch or guard anything. As for his food bowl, he will give warnings if you get too close to it - so would be best to feed him in a separate room. Dundee has attended a class at dog school and showed no reaction to the other dogs, he seems to be curious but happy. Dundee is looking for a very special home to call his own. The potential home MUST have experience with dogs who have resource guarding issues. He needs a confident handler to work through his issues with him. Dundee is a 9 year old, Miniature Pinscher. He can be very affectionate at times, so we think he could happily live in a home again with the right people. Dundee’s ideal home: No children. Cannot live with other dogs. Can walk beside them when out and about. Rural setting. We think a single person or couple who enjoy the outdoors would be perfect for Dundee. He is no couch potato.

About Dundee

What life with Dundee looks like

Dundee is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Mutts in Distress in Little Hallingbury.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dundee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dundee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Mutts in Distress handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dundee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dundee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Mutts in Distress will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dundee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dundee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Mutts in Distress early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dundee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
