Dunyha

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Dunyha came from the hell of 70 dogs in Újszilvás as an extra SOS rescue, from which the team of Supporters for Animals and numerous cooperating organizations have been rescuing dogs in recent days. Dunyha was visibly pregnant. Therefore, the removal could not wait even a minute. Dunyha's spaying was done urgently... we hate this, we hate that someone else's irresponsibility, cruel treatment of animals puts us in a situation where we have to make such a decision. Dunyha is a young mixed breed, born approximately in 202, who was scared when he arrived. We have gone through several months of socialization so that he can have a happy life after the hell. Now he is braver and more curious. A future owner needs to give him enough time to adjust, because forgetting his terrible life is not easy. Dunyha is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered, looking for a new home as a family member.

About Dunyha

What life with Dunyha looks like

Dunyha is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires patient owner for rehabilitation after traumatic past

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dunyha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dunyha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dunyha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dunyha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dunyha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dunyha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dunyha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
