DUQUE

Spanish Mastiff · Male · Young · 3 years

DUQUE NEEDS A FAMILY Take a good look at him. Because Duque has the face of a happy dog, but what he truly needs is to stop waiting. He is young, beautiful, noble, and has a spectacular presence. He's one of those dogs who steal your gaze in a second and your heart right after. He was born on 10/10/2023, and he's at that unfair stage where many people admire him but no one takes the step. And no, Duque doesn't need to be told how handsome he is. He needs a home. He needs a family. He needs to finally be somebody's dog. Because he wasn't born to live on pause. He wasn't born to be the next one. He wasn't born to watch others leave while he keeps waiting. Duque is a big-hearted dog. The kind who fills a life. The kind who turns a house into a home. The kind who deserves a real chance, not to be a "what a shame" lost among posts. So today we ask you for something very simple: adopt him or share him as if his life depended on it. Because too often, between an invisible dog and an adopted one, there is only one difference: someone moving them in time. DUQUE deserves to get out of here. He deserves a family worthy of him. He deserves to be chosen. If you can't adopt, share. Where every bark finds a home. Adoption questionnaire: Hazte Teamers: WhatsApp: (messages only) Email: More info: linktr.ee/catydogasociacion

About DUQUE

What life with DUQUE looks like

DUQUE is a large young adult spanish mastiff dog waiting at Catydog Asociación in Spain.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting DUQUE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DUQUE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Catydog Asociación handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DUQUE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DUQUE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Catydog Asociación will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is DUQUE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DUQUE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Catydog Asociación early rather than rehoming privately; they know DUQUE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
