Dworek

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

A real volcano of energy and joy - open, social and incredibly thirsty for human contact. Loves to run, jump and start playing together - every walk is a holiday for him, and a bath in the river is pure delight. Dworek is a dog made for an active life. He needs a lot of movement, human presence and daily challenges that will help him release excess energy. In confinement he suffers very much - the shelter reality is difficult for him to endure. Too few stimuli, too few people - and he needs so much of that. In relations with other dogs he tends to be dominant - he would feel best in a home with a female dog or a calm, balanced male. Due to his wild nature, we are looking for a home without small children - Dworek doesn't know his own strength and might accidentally knock someone over in the heat of play. We are looking for an active, consistent and patient person for Dwork - someone who will dedicate time to him and wants to work with him. He is a young dog, who with proper guidance will become a fantastic, loyal companion. He will thrive best in a house with a garden, but with a large amount of daily exercise can also cope in an apartment. If you are looking for an energetic, devoted friend - Dworek is waiting just for you.

PL·Show original

To prawdziwy wulkan energii i radości – otwarty, towarzyski i niesamowicie spragniony kontaktu z ludźmi. Uwielbia biegać, skakać i zaczepiać do wspólnej zabawy – każdy spacer to dla niego święto, a kąpiel w rzece to czysta rozkosz. Dworek to pies stworzony do aktywnego życia.

About Dworek

What life with Dworek looks like

Dworek is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Tomaszów Mazowiecki in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dworek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dworek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Tomaszów Mazowiecki handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dworek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dworek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Tomaszów Mazowiecki will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dworek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dworek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Tomaszów Mazowiecki early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dworek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
