Earl

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

He can be shy at first but once he has settled he is soon asking politely for head scratches (especially cheek rubs!). Earl prefers a safe spot to hide when he is feeling unsure, he is comfortable in his carrier and loves his scratch post. Bribes are always welcome - Earl responds well to Dreamies (specifically the cheesy kind!) Unfortunately, Earl will struggle to settle around other animals so he is looking for a quieter home with no young children so he can settle at his own pace. Eventually you will be rewarded with the sweet, affectionate boy we all know. Thank you for being interested in giving one of our cats a loving home. Our rehoming requirements are below: Kittens up to 2 years - £120.00 Farm cats 2-10 years £60~Farm cats 10+ £40

About Earl

What life with Earl looks like

Earl is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at PACT Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Earl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Earl?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PACT Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Earl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Earl if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PACT Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Earl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Earl isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PACT Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Earl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
