Adopt Eddi

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Eddi – a dream dog for experienced hands! Eddi is an absolutely obedient and loyal companion who wants to make his people happy. He is a calm, balanced type who pays attention to his people and enjoys clear leadership. • Walks perfectly on the leash, doesn’t pull, and is always attentive. • Excellent recall – comes back reliably. • Familiar with stable life and walks easily with the horse. • Loves to accompany on bike rides, in-line skating, or jogging. • Masters basic commands like sit, stay, shake, lie down, and come. • Gets along well with other dogs, fits into a pack well, and even takes on a patient “papa” role. • Also gets along with cats. • A relaxed housemate – quiet, house-trained, and no barker. • Has office dog experience – stays alone or rides in the car just as happily. Eddi is looking for a dog-experienced home: He needs confident people who read his body language and give him clear leadership. With the right guidance, he is a fantastic companion, but in the past, there have been biting incidents when he felt pressured or insecure. Therefore, no children should live in the home, as sudden touches or unexpected movements could unsettle him. Those who meet Eddi with calmness and clarity will get an unbelievably loyal, obedient, and loving companion. Who gives him the chance at his forever home?

About Eddi

What life with Eddi looks like

Eddi is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. in Stuttgart.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eddi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eddi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eddi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eddi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eddi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eddi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eddi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
