Eddi sucht ein Zuhause

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Eddi sucht ein Zuhause Achtung Eddi can't be left alone for too long, he should therefore not have to be alone for extended periods. The six-year-old little Eddi is searching for a new home. The miniature schnauzer is a loving, reserved, and playful dog who, despite his young years, has a serious past. He has a handicap; he can't be left alone completely! With another dog, perhaps even a cat, it works, but not for too long. This is something that can still be developed, but he simply cannot be left alone. This is also not something that can be fixed in the short term through dog training classes. Here, it requires patience and calm to achieve something. Ideally, he would be with a slightly larger second dog. Eddi gets along with both male and female dogs and likes to play with other dogs when he has built trust. Only with smaller dogs can jealousy arise. He has so deserved to be happy. From the fearful, often panicky little dog about small things, Eddi has become a little lively, attached, and loving dog who loves his people above all else once he has built trust. He seeks the proximity of his beloved people, enjoys long walks, meetings with other dogs, playing, and carrying things, just like cuddles, but he is not a plush dog who meekly accepts everything. If he feels threatened and gets panicky, he can also snap. With increasing trust, however, this is no longer a problem. Eddi is currently vaccinated, microchipped, and has an EU passport. He is medium-sized, with a shoulder height of approximately 35 cm, and currently weighs 6.5 kg. About Eddi sucht ein Zuhause

What life with Eddi sucht ein Zuhause looks like

Eddi sucht ein Zuhause is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Private Tierhilfe Sachsen e.V. in Glauchau.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eddi sucht ein Zuhause, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eddi sucht ein Zuhause?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Private Tierhilfe Sachsen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eddi sucht ein Zuhause on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eddi sucht ein Zuhause if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Private Tierhilfe Sachsen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eddi sucht ein Zuhause already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eddi sucht ein Zuhause isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Private Tierhilfe Sachsen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eddi sucht ein Zuhause and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
