adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Eddie has found his people! His story: The shy fluffball Eddie is already waiting for a foster home in Germany. Eddie is currently 4.5 months old and is expected to grow to a medium size. Eddie is simply irresistible. His fluffy fur, the special brown-black coloring on his face, and the heart-shaped nose ensure that one cannot look away. However, Eddie is still very afraid of everything that is new to him. It will take some time for him to be as open and cheerful towards people as his playmates. But he is making small progress every day at the foster home and is also observing a lot of the other foster dogs. His new family should be aware that Eddie does not yet know the life in a loving family. He still needs to learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of him. Here, he needs people who approach with a lot of love and patience, and possibly also attend some positively working dog training classes with him and forgive him one or two mishaps. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are still foreign words to him. During puberty, he will certainly test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things he has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Eddie will definitely become a great life partner. We hope so much that he can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for him. Eddie is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and brings an EU pet passport. He can now be adopted by someone who will give him his loving forever home, which he so deserves. Many thanks to Katharina! You named Eddie. Date: 26.08. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

Vielen Dank an Katharina! Du hast Eddie seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 26.08.2024

About Eddie

What life with Eddie looks like

Eddie is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
