Eddie werd op 15 juni 2024 gevonden in de rustige velden bij de begraafplaats in Malamata, een dorp in Dorida. Hij liep daar rustig rond, omringd door schaduwrijke bomen en ver weg van druk verkeer. Waar hij vandaan kwam, is helaas niet bekend. Toen Eddie groter werd, maakten de inwoners zich zorgen over zijn indrukwekkende formaat. Gelukkig waren er mensen die hem eten en water gaven en een oogje in het zeil hielden. Nadat de gemeente was geïnformeerd, kwamen vrijwilligers hem helpen. Eddie, die mensen volledig vertrouwde, liep zonder problemen naar hen toe. Inmiddels woont hij veilig in de shelter, samen met andere geredde honden. Hij deelt zijn verblijf met zijn goede vriendin Aleka. Eddie is gecastreerd en zijn behandeling tegen hartworm is in juni 2026 afgerond. Eddie is een echte gentle giant. Hij is lief, ontzettend vriendelijk en kan uitstekend overweg met zowel mensen als andere honden. Hij geniet van eenvoudige dingen, zoals wandelen aan de lijn door het dorp. Ook gaat hij graag naar het strand met zijn favoriete vrijwilliger George. Eddie is een hond die vooral geniet van gezelschap en het samen zijn met mensen. Eddie is een echte gentle giant.
