adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Eduard has found a home! His story: Eduard, Luana, Mavie, Milou, and Knuffi – five puppies, each more golden than the last. But not everyone sees it that way, because the little ones were simply abandoned and now live in a private animal shelter to avoid spending their lives on the streets. Eduard is an absolute treasure and totally well-balanced and lovable. He is a bit more calm than his siblings, but no less cuddly and people-oriented. With his light fur and great mask, he looks like a little puppy that once ran through the dust. The five puppies are all (except for Milou, who will be a bit larger than the others) rather small-boned. We don't know their parents, but their current size and weight strongly suggest it. Overall, the siblings are absolutely cheerful, uncomplicated puppies. They love to have fun and are absolute little troublemakers as soon as you enter the run. They don't want more than a loving family. If you can envision adopting one of our puppies, be prepared for a lot of play and fun, but especially work. The little guys are all not house-trained, can't walk on a leash, have no life in house and garden, and must be taught everything anew from the start. This makes it a lot of fun on one hand, but of course also requires a lot of patience and empathy from the people. Eduard is ready to travel and can be vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, and equipped with an EU pet passport to move into his family immediately. He will only be adopted after a positive Thank you to Frankfurt Coffee! Your naming sponsorship was the starting gun for a new life! As of: 19.04.

Vielen Dank an Frankfurter Coffee! About Eduard

What life with Eduard looks like

Eduard is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eduard, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eduard?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eduard on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eduard if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eduard already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eduard isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eduard and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
