Edziu arrived at our shelter as a found dog – as if he had simply... disappeared from someone’s life. No one was looking for him, no one asked about him, no one was waiting. Yet, he was a home dog, trained to closeness and touch. One that knows the smell of a human and remembers what a shared morning feels like. The animal shelter was for him like a bad dream that couldn’t be fully dreamed through. Locked within himself, frightened, he couldn’t understand for a long time why everything he knew had suddenly ceased to exist. His heart was in pieces. But Edziu does not give up. With small steps, with the delicacy of an entity that still believes the world can be good, he begins to approach us. He looks. Sometimes he nuzzles. Sometimes he brings a toy. Not yet entirely bravely, but with a hope that does not fade. On the leash, he walks neatly, calmly, carefully. He strolls as if exploring the world anew – cautiously but with curiosity. Every new nook is a small expedition for him. Every step is a proof that he wants to return to life. Edziu is looking for a home. He is looking for a person who will give him time. And who will understand that sometimes it takes being very quiet to hear the broken heart that still wants to love.

Taki, który zna zapach człowieka i pamięta, czym jest wspólny poranek. Schronisko było dla niego jak zły sen, którego nie dało się wyśnić do końca.Zamknięty w sobie, przestraszony, długo nie potrafił zrozumieć, dlaczego nagle wszystko, co znał, przestało istnieć. Serce miał w kawałkach. Ale Edziu się nie poddaje.Małymi krokami, z delikatnością istoty, która wciąż wierzy, że świat potrafi być dobry – zaczyna do nas podchodzić. Patrzy. Czasem trąci nosem. Czasem przyniesie zabawkę. Jeszcze nie całkiem odważnie, ale z nadzieją, która nie gaśnie. Na smyczy chodzi ładnie, spokojnie, uważnie.Spaceruje, jakby badał świat od nowa – ostrożnie, ale z ciekawością. Każdy nowy zakamarek to dla niego mała wyprawa.
