adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Eila has found her forever home! Her story: The beautiful Eila, our "Black Beauty," was able to move in with her foster family at the beginning of January. Since her arrival, she has captivated everyone with her open, friendly nature; she was simply there, as if she had always been. With her stunning, bright eyes, she smiles at the camera, is happy to cuddle, and always seeks the company of her people. She also gets along super well with the children in the household. Her fur is black but needed to be trimmed roughly as it was very worn from the shelter. Eila is a very social female dog; she gets along famously with the existing only dog, and the cat has already been introduced without any issues. She has been house-trained from the start and loves being outside. There, she is very agile and lively and is happy to play with the only dog. She already walks well on a leash, and leash training is currently being actively trained. She handles car rides very well. She also handles being alone well. In the house, Eila is a bit more quiet and cautious, as she likely didn't know it before. Originally, Eila came from Romania, Baia Mare. No one wanted the beautiful, young female dog, and she was therefore picked up on the street and brought to safety in a public shelter. Eila is now searching for her forever home, where she will be loved and can continue to develop her wonderful qualities. If you feel a connection and would like to give this special female dog a loving home, please contact us. The sweet snout of Eila looks forward to meeting you! Eila is microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered. She has an EU pet passport and can be transferred after a positive match. We would like to thank the namingspender Lucas for giving Eila her beautiful name and thus a personal identity. Many thanks, Katrin L.! You are supporting Eila with a monthly sponsorship! As of: 15.01.

Vielen Dank Katrin L.! Du unterstützt Eila mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 15.01.2025

About Eila

What life with Eila looks like

Eila is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
