Eimon

Belgian Malinois · Male · Adult · 3 years

Malinois mixed breed Eimon – seeks people with experience and engagement. Eimon currently lives in a Spanish animal shelter and waits there for the chance to be discovered by the right people. We can't say much about the handsome male dogs right now. He hasn't been in the animal shelter for long, and the caretakers are just getting to know him. Like many dogs from shelters, it often takes some time for them to open up in the unfamiliar environment and for their character to be better assessed. Eimon is a Malinois. And this should be taken into consideration when considering adoption. Malinois are intelligent, sensitive, and extremely hardworking dogs. They were bred over generations for close cooperation with humans and often bring a high degree of learnability, energy, and endurance. At the same time, they require clear structures, orientation, and a meaningful physical and mental challenge. A dog like Eimon therefore seeks people who are willing to actively engage with him and provide the leadership he usually needs as a working dog. Experience with demanding dog breeds would be a great advantage. We currently know nothing about Eimons past, his training status, or his previous experiences. His future family should therefore be open to the fact that he may still have a lot to learn and needs time to adjust to a new environment. A decision for a Malinois should never be based solely on appearance. These dogs can be extraordinary companions, but they also bring special demands and require people who are willing to take on long-term responsibility. For Eimon, we wish for a home that offers him security, orientation, and the opportunity to develop his potential. With the right people by his side, he has the best chance to become a loyal and impressive companion. If you are aware of what adopting a shelter dog entails and have fallen for the need, please contact the responsible mediator at SALVA Hundehilfe. We would also be very grateful for the provision of a foster home for Eimon.

About Eimon

What life with Eimon looks like

Eimon is a large adult belgian malinois dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eimon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eimon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eimon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eimon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eimon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eimon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eimon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
