ELAION

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Available for adoption at ELAION Animal Shelter on Okrzei Street is a female kitten named Maluszek who uses the litter box. Please note that adopting a kitten does not make it easy to raise, contrary to popular belief. We do not recommend adopting kittens into homes with young children as they are still learning how strong their claws and teeth can be, often resulting in scratches and injuries. This is the most common reason for returns from adoption. When dealing with such young animals, you must be prepared to teach them everything from scratch. Kittens are extremely energetic and may destroy furniture, curtains, etc. Remember that a cat can live up to 20 years, so adopting a kitten means being responsible for it for a very long time. Kittens instinctively use the litter box, but you should be prepared for cases where they need help learning how to use it properly. Keep in mind that kittens are at high risk due to their lack of full vaccinations - they can get sick and initially the disease may not show any symptoms. Date of birth: ~05/2026 We inform you that each animal can be adopted virtually. For more information, please contact us by email ( or through our Facebook profile:) More information about the animal can be obtained by contacting the shelter office at [phone number]. To adopt a dog, you need to provide an ID card, leash and collar. To adopt a cat, you need to provide an ID card and a carrier. All dogs and cats are microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated against infectious diseases. Dogs are also vaccinated against rabies. Adult animals can leave for their new home after being spayed/neutered. Puppies/kittens leave the shelter without surgery but will receive a free sterilization/neutering procedure at an appropriate age. The age of the dog/cat is determined based on its teeth and overall appearance, so it should be treated as an approximate value. ADOPTION IS FREE. TRANSPORTATION IS AVAILABLE - WARSAW, KRAKOW, WROCLAW, POZNAŃ, KATOWICE, ŁÓDŹ, LUBLIN or other cities by arrangement. ELAION - kotka znaleziona na ul. Okrzei Maluszek korzysta z kuwety. About ELAION

What life with ELAION looks like

ELAION is a small young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting ELAION, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ELAION?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ELAION on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ELAION if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ELAION already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ELAION isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know ELAION and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
