At just nine months old, Elda has already come frighteningly close to losing her life. This beautiful little girl was one of three dogs being held by dog catchers, facing the heartbreaking prospect of being put to sleep. With only hours left to save them, we knew we had to do everything we could to give them a chance. On 15th October 2026, we received an urgent message and a secretly recorded video showing three frightened dogs being held in a room awaiting their fate. Unless they were rescued by midday the following day, their lives would be over. Each dog needed €45 to secure their release, and thanks to the urgent efforts to save them, all three were brought to safety. Elda was immediately taken to the vet alongside her two companions. Thankfully, her initial examination showed that she was healthy, although she still needed treatment for fleas and parasites, followed by her vaccinations and the usual care needed to prepare her for a better future. Despite everything she has been through, Elda is an incredibly affectionate little girl who absolutely loves cuddles. She has so much love to give, and it is heartbreaking to think that such a gentle, loving young dog came so close to never experiencing the kindness and security she deserves.
