adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Elias has found a home! His story: Elias was found in Romania with his mother and siblings and brought to the shelter. After some time, he had the great fortune to travel to his foster mom. There, he immediately enjoyed his own bed, which made his transition into his new life much easier. The first dog in his new home helped him adjust to the new environment, and of course, his foster mom was also present. Elias is a loving and confident dog who loves to cuddle. He has no fear of strangers and shows himself to be open and friendly. At first, noises still unsettled him, but with much love and patience, he has already adapted to many things. He likes to play both inside and outside, runs perfectly on a leash, and is very oriented towards the person at the other end of the leash. The little treasure is already learning the dog ABC and has already mastered the command "sit." Other basic commands are being practiced diligently. Elias still hasn't met any children or cats, but so loving and open, he will likely enjoy living with children and other animals. We wish Elias a loving home in a quiet environment where there isn't too much chaos. For people who can give him security, with whom he can grow and lead a beautiful dog life. Maybe Elias can move in with you soon? He looks forward to a new family that will accompany him with love and patience! The sweet angel can after a positive arrival is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and brings his EU pet passport. The adoption fee is 500 Euros. Many thanks, Andrea! You gave Elias his beautiful name! Date: 05.08. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

Vielen Dank Andrea! Du hast Elias seinen schönen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 05.08.2025

About Elias

What life with Elias looks like

Elias is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elias, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elias?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elias on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elias if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elias already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elias isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elias and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
