Elio

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 3 months

📖 History: Elio is the third child in his litter. He arrived at his foster family just one day after his birth, and his early life was a bit more challenging than that of his two older sisters. For several weeks, he struggled to gain weight and sometimes found himself pushed aside during feeding sessions 🍼 by his bolder sisters. This difficult start required him to take extra time to grow and build confidence 💪. Today, Elio has caught up nicely and continues to develop at his own pace. This experience seems to have shaped in him a gentler and more sensitive temperament than that of his sisters. 🧠 Personality: The sensitive Elio is a calm and endearing kitten. While he enjoys playful moments with his friends, he also loves quieter times and happily spends time snuggled up against his mom. More laid-back than his sisters, Elio often observes carefully before acting and prefers to take his time exploring his surroundings 👀. But don’t be fooled by his gentle nature! When it comes to food, Elio knows exactly how to make himself heard. His meow carries farther than any of his siblings’, and he’ll never hesitate to remind you that his meal absolutely mustn’t be delayed 🍗😸. 💕 His Needs: A loving family who will appreciate his sweetness and provide him with a reassuring environment where he can thrive at his own pace. 🥰 🐾 Compatibility ✅ Dogs: Not tested 🐱 Cats: OK

About Elio

What life with Elio looks like

Elio is a kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Association Thalya Protection in France.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elio?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Thalya Protection handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elio if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Thalya Protection will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Elio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elio isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Thalya Protection early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
