Taxi

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten

Update 28 July 2026: Taxi Has Interested Parties! Taxi (*21 July 2016) is looking for a new, loving home. The neutered tomcat was given up reluctantly for personal reasons. Due to separation, relocation, and lack of time, his previous owner could no longer meet his needs. Throughout his life, Taxi has been an outdoor cat. When this was no longer possible, he began to show signs of incontinence—a clear indication of just how much he misses his freedom. Taxi is an absolute treasure: calm, easygoing, incredibly cuddly, and very people-oriented. He thoroughly enjoys every bit of petting and is simply a delightful companion. For many years, Taxi lived harmoniously with two other cats as well as a dog. Therefore, he would happily join an already existing, non-dominant cat. A quiet dog would also be a good match. Taxi has undergone a thorough veterinary check-up with us, is fully vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He has no known health issues or disabilities. For Taxi, outdoor access is an absolute must. At our facility, he spends nearly the entire day by the open window, clearly showing how much he longs to be able to go outside again. That’s why we’re looking for a home for him in a low-traffic area where, after a suitable adjustment period, he can once again enjoy his familiar freedom. If you’d like to consider adopting Taxi, please first complete the self-assessment form on our website. We’ll then get in touch with you as soon as possible to arrange a visit so that you can meet him in person.

About Taxi

What life with Taxi looks like

Taxi is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutz Bingen in Grolsheim.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Taxi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Taxi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Bingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Taxi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Taxi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Bingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Taxi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Taxi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Bingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Taxi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
