Adopt Ellie & Peaches | EFfL e.V

Mixed Breed · Unknown

♀ born ca. 06/24, ♀ born ca. 06/2025Mutter-Tochter - Handicapin Ciudad Real/Spanien Ellie and Peaches are a very special mother-daughter pair. Ellie (born ca. 06.2024) and her daughter Peaches (born ca. 06.2025) were discovered in a backyard at the edge of a small town. The homeowners sought help because the two cats would keep appearing there and wouldn't leave – as if waiting for assistance. When the volunteer helpers arrived, it was clear that the two needed immediate support. At the time, Peaches was only a few weeks old and severely ill. Her eyes were highly inflamed, the tissue already destroyed, and likely the result of an untreated infection. Both eyes had to be removed. Today, Peaches lives without sight but manages surprisingly well, as long as she can rely on established routines, familiar sounds, and her safe environment. And especially on her mother, Ellie. The two often move in unison through the room, lying snuggled up to each other, and it seems they know exactly what the other needs. Ellie is a calm, friendly cat who quickly gains trust with her gentle nature. She enjoys being stroked and likes to stay close to her trusted people and her daughter. Peaches is more reserved and needs time to adjust to new spaces. Once she feels secure in her surroundings, she is open and kittenishly curious. Ellie and Peaches are a well-coordinated team and should therefore be rehomed together. They are neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and ready for their travel arrangements. The adoption fee is 250 € per cat. Due to her blindness, a free roam for Peaches is unfortunately not an option. A secured balcony or a sheltered garden would be nice, but not necessary.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ellie & Peaches | EFfL e.V, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ellie & Peaches | EFfL e.V?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ellie & Peaches | EFfL e.V on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ellie & Peaches | EFfL e.V if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ellie & Peaches | EFfL e.V already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ellie & Peaches | EFfL e.V isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ellie & Peaches | EFfL e.V and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
