Elodie & Floria

Female · Young · 3 years

Elodie & Floria (weighing approximately 2kg and 1kg) were found together in a plastic box with a lid. Unfortunately, we lack all information about their history. Now we are searching for a new home for Elodie & Floria together. They are very curious, active, and friendly. Elodie is the more courageous of the two. Since Elodie belongs to the breed "Ram," special attention must be paid to her hearing, as this breed is at high risk for ear infections. So far, she has not been affected. With Floria, special attention must be given to her dental health due to her small head, but everything is currently in order. At the moment, they are in indoor housing. If you are interested, please contact us via email () and include a few photos of your enclosure directly.

About Elodie & Floria

What life with Elodie & Floria looks like

Elodie & Floria is a small young adult rabbit waiting at Tierheim Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

Note from the shelter: Elodie needs regular ear care due to lop breed predisposition to ear infections. Floria requires dental monitoring due to small head structure.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elodie & Floria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elodie & Floria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Düsseldorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elodie & Floria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elodie & Floria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Düsseldorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elodie & Floria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elodie & Floria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Düsseldorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elodie & Floria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
