Elvira

Female · Puppy · 11 months

Elvira is a young mixed breed Dogue just one year old, full of life and good humor. Energetic and very playful, she already has a solid foundation in training. My character: Curious and always up for a new adventure, she loves walks and discovering new places. Her greatest pleasure? Playing with balls and noisy toys! Very affectionate, Elvira is also a big fan of cuddle sessions and never resists some scratches on the belly. She gets along well with other dogs, provided introductions are made in good conditions. She can also live with cats, providing an adaptation period, as she is naturally curious and playful. I like / I don't like: Elvira likes children, but a household with young children will not be preferred. Due to her young age and enthusiasm, she may still be a bit rough in her moments of joy. Although she is a mixed breed Dogue, Elvira is not categorized. Therefore, no permit is required to adopt her. A real little gem waiting for her forever family!

About Elvira

What life with Elvira looks like

Elvira is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at APAA Trégrom in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elvira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elvira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAA Trégrom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elvira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elvira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAA Trégrom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elvira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elvira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAA Trégrom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elvira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
