Emmy

Border Collie · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Age: 2026-02-19 Gender: Female Breed: Border Collie/Labrador mix Spayed: No Contact Person: Team 1. Adoption Fee: 13,000 SEK Brought from: Animals In Need Donegal Currently Located: Foster home in Borås Municipality Can live with dogs: Yes Can live with cats: Yes Can live with children aged: 9–13 years and older What kind of environment suits her: Can live in a quieter area Activity Level: Medium-high Previous dog experience of the adopter: Has previous dog experience Emmy and her sisters Amiee, Dotty, Mimi, and Polly were born at a rescue shelter in Ireland. She is now in a foster home in Sandared. Emmy’s foster home says: “Emmy is a cautious girl who finds many aspects of everyday life unfamiliar and new. When something scares her, Emmy is incredibly good at showing it by barking and seeking comfort from us. She lives with a cat and two children. She doesn’t pay much attention to the cat, but she finds the younger children a bit hard to understand. She was a little shy at first, but now she trusts us adults and loves being as close to us as possible. She walks beautifully on a leash—even though she’s only tried it for a few days—sometimes she sits down to take in all the new impressions. She’s easy to handle, sleeps peacefully through the night, and we believe she’d really enjoy having a confident canine companion. She’s very affectionate toward her chosen people—a truly wonderful little girl.” All basic training lies ahead of her, including everyday obedience, environmental training, and continued socialization. We’re looking for an active family for Emmy who can provide her with mental and physical stimulation throughout her life. At four months old, Emmy weighs about 14.5 kilos and measures approximately 47 centimeters from the top of her head. Is Emmy the missing piece in your life? About Emmy

What life with Emmy looks like

Emmy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten border collie dog waiting at Hundar Utan Hem in Stockholm.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Emmy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Emmy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundar Utan Hem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Emmy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Emmy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundar Utan Hem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Emmy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Emmy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundar Utan Hem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Emmy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
