Adopt Eni

Mixed Breed · Unknown

In February 2024, the Care for Dogs shelter kennel received information about a dog that lived in the yard of a farm. The farm workers treated the dog poorly and violently, and finally, when this dog recently gave birth to puppies, a bystander decided to ask for help for the dog. Therefore, the farm staff came to take Eni to safety, and since then she has been waiting for her turn to go to a permanent home. Despite her difficult past, Eni is extremely friendly towards people. She greets both familiar and unfamiliar people with great joy and immediately asks for pats and attention. If a person walks around the kennel, Eni follows them around. She appears to be a very balanced and happy person at the shelter kennel. Eni has been used as a blood donor at the shelter kennel, as Eni can patiently wait for the procedure. Eni always goes out for walks enthusiastically, and putting on the harness is done smoothly. At the shelter kennel, Eni has sometimes been a bit picky about her kennel mates, but has ultimately lived without problems, at least with males. Probably Eni would also be happy as the only dog. Eni has been diagnosed with a hip dysplasia in the left hip in Romania.

Helmikuussa 2024 Care for Dogsin tarha sai tiedon koirasta, joka eli erään maatilan pihapiirissä. Kurjasta historiastaan huolimatta Eni on äärimmäisen ihmisrakas. Enillä on Romaniassa todettu lonkkavika vasemmassa lonkassa.

About Eni

What life with Eni looks like

Eni is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Embla Rescue in Helsinki.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇮Adopting from Finland

Finnish shelters require a home visit and an adoption contract. Animals are vetted; the EU pet passport covers cross-border travel within the bloc.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Embla Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Embla Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Embla Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FI). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
