Enola

American Staffordshire Terrier · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Enola is a friendly and open dog who has only recently arrived at our shelter. She is currently showing many uncertainties in everyday life. Enola is friendly and open to people. She builds a close bond with her caregivers and enjoys their company. Enola is also open to strangers. Enola's uncertainty is mainly shown in high excitement in new situations and confusing situations. Sudden movements can sometimes frighten and unsettle her. Enola currently feels only partially secure in dealing with other dogs. She is therefore currently in training with us and is learning step by step to develop more trust and security in dog encounters. Enola is very eager to learn. Enola takes the training very well and is making continuous progress. Basically, Enola is not incompatible with other dogs. We rather assume that she has had little opportunity to experience social contacts and interactions with other dogs. She now has to learn this social skill slowly, positively and at her own pace. Cats and small animals should not currently live in the household. We cannot yet reliably assess how Enola would develop in living with them. Currently, Enola is on a single place where her development is the focus. A second dog is therefore only conceivable after careful getting to know each other and a corresponding introduction. About Enola

What life with Enola looks like

Enola is a young adult american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Tierheim Bruck an der Leitha in Austria.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Enola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Enola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bruck an der Leitha handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Enola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Enola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Bruck an der Leitha will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Enola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Enola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bruck an der Leitha early rather than rehoming privately; they know Enola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
