Enola

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Enola arrived at her foster home about two weeks ago—and since then, she has truly enchanted everyone she meets. She is a small, wonderful magical mouse with a gentle nature that has captured our hearts in a storm. She cautiously but bravely explores the big, exciting world at her own steady pace. A huge support is her dog friend Nico, whom she affectionately looks up to and finds a lot of security with. Walks with all the new impressions are still a challenge for the little fur-nose, but with the help of our first dog, she explores her surroundings with small steps. We wish for Enola a quiet home without small children, but with a confident dog buddy who can continue to provide her with support. A quiet neighborhood or a rural environment would also help her continue to develop positively. Enola is a fantastic female dog who, without any touch fears, will become a wonderful companion if given the time to settle in and build trust. Enola is a very friendly Bodeguerohündin currently in our partner shelter Hogar de Asís, waiting for a loving family, couple, or individual who will love, care for, and make her happy forever. As you can see in the photos and in Enola’s videos, our delicate Podi-mouse has already endured a great deal of suffering in her life. The deep scars on her sweet little face hint at what she has endured. Additionally, a part of her lip is missing. We do not know exactly what happened to Enola. Whether it was a cruel human hand, another dog, or perhaps a rat, we cannot say for sure. What is certain is that it is purely an optical defect. We hope with all our hearts that people will fall in love with Enola despite their perceived “imperfections” and accept her as she is. For one thing, Enola herself couldn’t care less about her appearance. What she desires are compassion, responsibility, and loyalty from a shelter dog—also when on walks, one might be asked for the 1629th time what happened to her face.

DE·Show original

About Enola

What life with Enola looks like

Enola is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Enola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Enola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Enola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Enola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Enola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Enola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Enola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
