Era

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 6 months

Era (born around May 2026) is such a wonderful little sweetheart—loving, incredibly cuddly, curious, and brave. Suddenly, Era found herself in a stranger’s garden. She couldn’t have made her way there on her own, since the garden is securely fenced to keep the family’s cats from escaping. Someone must have thought this little mouse would be safe and well cared for there. The garden owners contacted us because the resident cats were not at all happy about this unwelcome intruder. Era is appropriately playful for her age, very cuddly, and highly people-oriented. We’d love for Era to find a home with outdoor access—and possibly also a large, secure, cat-friendly balcony. Era will be rehomed together with another kitten from the foster home. Era is microchipped, vaccinated, and will be placed in a home with the obligation of spaying/neutering, under a protection contract, and with a adoption fee. If you’re interested, please get in touch with her foster mom, Anja, at 128.

About Era

What life with Era looks like

Era is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren in Ibbenbüren.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Era, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Era?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Era on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Era if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Era already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Era isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren early rather than rehoming privately; they know Era and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
