Ercole

Unknown · Young · 2 years

Young, 2 years old, intact. Large size (about 30kg), Italian Spinone. This breed is known for its friendly character. It is a patient, intelligent, affectionate and loyal dog. It loves the company of its family while remaining independent, and is generally well-disposed towards other animals. It is not particularly nervous, is active and joyful. It is a balanced, affectionate and adaptable dog. Well, having said that about the breed, now we tell you its story. It lives in a box. Since it was a puppy. It is shy and reserved, does not confide in strangers but lacks curiosity. It knows nothing of the outside world, has seen nothing beyond its box. It is young and there is definitely room for improvement but it takes time and someone willing to work with him to overcome his insecurities, to give him support, to guide him in this life that so far has given him practically nothing. It is a good dog, it is big, and it is beautiful, both inside and out. Even though it doesn't know it. It is waiting for its chance, a family that believes in him and ready to roll up their sleeves to help him discover and appreciate everything he has missed so far. It is located in Verona, but for a good adoption other destinations in nearby areas are considered. For Ercole it is possible to contact via WhatsApp message Manu at 3401259077. A presentation is appreciated.

About Ercole

What life with Ercole looks like

Ercole is a large young adult dog waiting at Animalisti Verona ODV in Verona.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ercole, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ercole?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animalisti Verona ODV handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ercole on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ercole if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animalisti Verona ODV will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ercole already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ercole isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animalisti Verona ODV early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ercole and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
