Adopt Ernie

Cockapoo · Male · Adult · 3 years

Ernie came to the centre via an inspector after he was found in terrible condition, poor Ernie was extremely thin and his coat was completely matted to the point where he had to be sedated and completely shaved. After lots of good food and TLC he is now ready to find himself a family who will love and cherish him. Ernie was terribly shy when he first came to the centre due to his past neglect and abuse suffered, he has been making great progress since arriving at the centre and has formed strong bonds with the staff who have been taking care of him. Once you have earned his trust and he feels safe with you, his character shines, he loves his cuddles and will even bounce and play with you. Adopters will need to take things slowly with Ernie and introduce him to new situations and surroundings in a controlled and patient way, he can not be flooded with lots of new things as this will overwhelm him. Adopters will need to commit to multiple meets at the centre to build up a bond with him before taking him home to give him the best chance of adjusting to his new family. Ernie could live with an existing confident dog after a successful introduction at the centre and would need an adult only home.
