How do I contact the shelter about Espurr?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Laois SPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Espurr on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Espurr if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Laois SPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Espurr already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Espurr isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Laois SPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Espurr and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Meet Espurr. The Biscuit-Making, Purring Machine! 🖤🤍 If happiness had a sound, it would be Espurr’s purr. And if happiness had a job, this little girl would be working a 12-hour shift at the biscuit factory! 😂 Espurr is a beautiful 12-week-old tuxedo girl with a heart full of love and paws that simply cannot stop making biscuits. I’m not even joking when I say she is one of the nicest kittens I’ve ever had the pleasure of fostering. She’s just THAT lovely! Espurr is the definition of easy-going and happy. When she’s content (which is pretty much all the time!), she simply cannot walk normally. It’s more like: step – air biscuit – step – air biscuit. 🥹 Those little paws are constantly working overtime, and her purr motor never seems to switch off! She’s gentle, playful, curious and wonderfully relaxed, making her a lovely match for a family with younger children. Whether it’s playtime, exploring a new corner of the house or simply keeping you company with her endless purring, Espurr is happy to be part of the action. She’s the kind of kitten who makes a house feel a little warmer just by being in it. And she’s not just gorgeous and full of love – she’s a clever little lady too! Espurr has been using a Litter-Robot and figured it out with impressive ease. She’s fully litter trained and ready to settle into her forever home. Her new family can also enjoy the peace of mind that comes with all the big vet jobs already taken care of. ✅ Espurr comes spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and wormed. So, if your home is missing a little purring, a lot of love and a tiny biscuit-making assistant, Espurr might just be your girl! 📩 Get in touch with us to find out more about adopting this absolutely delightful little soul. She’s ready to clock out of the biscuit factory and start her happily ever after! 🖤🤍 Cat Adoption Application DAFM No KPT 200001C

About Espurr

What life with Espurr looks like

Espurr is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Laois SPCA in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).
