Adopt Estrella2

Pointer · Female

Description Sweet dog lady Estrella came to our Spanish animal shelter because her owner could no longer take care of all her animals. As the oldest, she was therefore "sorted out." Podenco-Pointer mix Estrella is a wonderful and friendly soul. She is clingy with people and behaves rather submissively. She enjoys the attention of people and is happy about their affection. Running and walks are very much to her liking, and she is happy about the shared activities. She gets along well with other dogs and also with children. Currently, she still needs to be securely on a leash, as the loyal female dog would go looking for her old owner. We wish sweet Estrella a family that gives her security and love. She should now finally be able to rest and relax. Together with her new people, she will still experience many wonderful moments. Estrella has a big heart that so deserves to feel love. Update: 28.07.2025 New pictures 03.05.2025: Estrella2 (on the foster home, she is called Lina) moved to a foster home in Holland (Landgraaf, near Maastricht) in mid-April. She settled in very well from the first day. Estrella enjoys life in the house and the walks; she is still very fit. Driving in a car does not cause her any problems. The female dog shows herself to be absolutely friendly and trusting to people, she loves to snuggle! She is also very social and playful with the existing dog. She can be rehomed to an already existing dog very well, but this is not a condition. Estrella is described as inquisitive and eager to learn! This dream dog can be visited at her foster home. Information on the Podenco: Like most animals from abroad, Estrella2 will also need to get used to life in the new home, as she knows neither large crowds of people nor the loud city traffic from Spain. But we are optimistic that she will quickly settle in. We wish for her a nice home in a more rural area, for example, on the outskirts of a city, where she can enjoy nature with her people. We are looking for people who are willing to patiently and affectionately acclimate this wonderful companion to life and the new home.

Tag an sehr gut eingelebt. About Estrella2

What life with Estrella2 looks like

Estrella2 is a large adult pointer dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Estrella2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Estrella2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Estrella2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Estrella2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Estrella2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Estrella2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Estrella2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
