adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Etu has found a permanent home! 80796 München. Etu can travel to his foster home in December! His story: Busag, Romania. Our Etu is searching for a loving home! Could he find his place with you? Etu spent his entire first year at the shelter Busag, as a puppy that was brought in and grew up here. We don't actually wish this for any of our dogs. From the very first moment, we take responsibility and do our best to find families for all of them as soon as possible. With Etu, we are still waiting and not giving up. Etu is 2 years old and is about 45 cm tall, with a slender build. His expressive face looks a little skeptical at the world, who can blame him. He only knows the shelter routine. Etu is typical of a young dog, absolutely open, playful, friendly, and gets along well with people and other dogs. We are sure that Etu will become a wonderful and faithful companion in a loving family, where he can stay and be. A warm, safe spot in the middle of his family, loving, unexcited, and patient people, that's what we wish for Etu. Children should be old enough to leave him alone when he wants to be. A garden would be paradise for Etu, as he is already used to being outside. A visit to a dog training class that works with positive reinforcement would certainly not hurt. Etu has to learn everything first, and a lot of patience and love are needed, even during the beginning of puberty. Etu travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to his new home. He will of course bring his EU pet passport with him. Are you falling in love with Etu? He would also be happy in a foster home. Many thanks Sandra L.! You gave Etu his name!

Verliebst du dich in Etu? Vielen Dank Sandra L.! Du hast Etu seinen Namen geschenkt!

About Etu

What life with Etu looks like

Etu is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Etu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Etu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Etu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Etu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Etu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Etu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Etu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
