Ewout & Kees

Unknown

Ewout (red/white) and Kees (black/red/white) came in together and are true best friends. They are both a bit shy and timid guinea pigs who need some time to get used to new people and a new environment. They don't like cuddling; they are not lap guinea pigs. With some patience and calmness, they are expected to feel more and more comfortable in their new home. For Kees and Ewout we are looking for a nice home with a spacious indoor area, where they have plenty of space to move around comfortably. They can be placed together, but it is also possible to place them separately, provided they each get a companion. Placement with children aged 12 years and older is an option.

NL·Show original

Ga terug

About Ewout & Kees

What life with Ewout & Kees looks like

Ewout & Kees is a adult animal waiting at Dierentehuis Arnhem in Netherlands.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Ewout & Kees far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ewout & Kees, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ewout & Kees?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Arnhem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ewout & Kees on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ewout & Kees if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis Arnhem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ewout & Kees already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ewout & Kees isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Arnhem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ewout & Kees and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
