Adopt Eyla G

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Name Eyla G. Born late September 2025 Gender female dog Breed mixed breed Size will be medium foster home Eyla is still in the care of our animal protection friends in a foreign country. She can travel as soon as we find a foster home (preferably one with adoption intentions) in the Mainz/Wiesbaden area. The age given here is often an estimate, as we don't always know the exact age. Other details like size are subjective. The young female dog lives in a small Romanian animal shelter at the moment. Here, there is a "puppy boom"… as often in winter…. 🙁 She shares her enclosure with many other puppies and shows typical playful, curious, and open behavior. We hope very much that she will find an opportunity to travel soon. Cristina found the little Eyla near the shelter church. A gypsy likely left her there. Of course, Cristina took her in, and now the little one is in safety. She has all her vaccinations and can travel by the end of January 2026. What we don't know… compatibility with others, cats, children, car rides, house training, leash manners… We don't place perfect dogs but surprise packages 🙂…. …and we are looking for people who are willing to take on the adventure of an international dog and give them a second chance at a responsible home. Eyla represents 100 young puppies waiting to experience real life. The small Romanian animal shelter is run by two young people who also live on the premises and are there for the dogs 24/7. The dogs can also sniff out what life in a house is like…. The two are supported by The Guardians of Paws Angel Protectors of the Animals. About Eyla G

What life with Eyla G looks like

Eyla G is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eyla G, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eyla G?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eyla G on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eyla G if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eyla G already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eyla G isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eyla G and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
