F. Pombar

Mixed Breed · Unknown

CIRCUMSTANCES OF THEIR ADOPTION: The Füzesabony Animal Rescue Foundation requested assistance with taking them in. The dog family had been living in cave-like shelters, and they needed to be rescued from there. The Chips puppies—actually, more like teenagers—along with their mother, were brought to us from an abandoned area where they’d been living in makeshift “cave dwellings.” The family shared this not-so-luxurious home with some cats. Of the four siblings—three boys and one girl—they’ve now moved into separate kennels away from their mother. Chippy probably doesn’t mind this at all, because the puppies are real rascals. We’re certain they didn’t take after their mother, since at barely six months old, they’re already about twice her size. As for what kind of dog their father might have been, we don’t know—but judging by their size, they’ll likely grow to be small to medium-sized. One of the special features of this group is their coat pattern. Several of the siblings’ markings look as if someone had smeared paint over them. Stripes and spots adorn their fur, and even their tongues have patches on them.

A csapat egyik különlegessége a bundájuk. Több testvér mintázata is olyan, mintha valaki festékkel összekente volna őket. Csíkok és pöttyök tarkítják a szőrüket, sőt még a nyelvükön is találhatók foltok.

About F. Pombar

What life with F. Pombar looks like

F. Pombar is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Rex Kutyaotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting F. Pombar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about F. Pombar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rex Kutyaotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw F. Pombar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt F. Pombar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rex Kutyaotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is F. Pombar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if F. Pombar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rex Kutyaotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know F. Pombar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
