FAKIR

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

A small, 11-kilogram boy is anxiously waiting for his angel! 🐾 Wise love saves! There are dogs that can't immediately jump onto someone's lap and loudly bark for attention. They stand behind, quietly, trying to be invisible to the world. Meet Fakir - an absolutely unique, subtle dog, who is about 4-5 years old (born around 2021-2022). Fakir is a charming, small, delicate dog - weighing only 11 kg, representing a small, extremely handy and compact size, which will perfectly fit in any apartment. Shelter reality - ubiquitous noise, noise and barking of hundreds of dogs - overwhelms him very much. Fakir is a distrustful dog and is still a little scared. Fate must have hurt him in the past, which is why the boy needs a moment to believe that a human hand can only bring good. However, we want to emphasize this with all our might: in this small body, there is a huge gentleness and zero anger. Fakir reacts to fear with quiet withdrawal. In the hands of patient volunteers, he slowly opens up, and when he feels calm, he cuddles with a touching delicacy in a person, looking for his invaluable shelter. Why is the modest Fakir a friend worth every attention? Ideal age and balance: At about 4-5 years old, Fakir combines youth with stability. You will miss the troublesome stage of puppy pranks, destroying things or teething. The boy perfectly understands the rules and is able to appreciate silence and peace. Angel for fellow dogs: This sensitive gentleman fully accepts other dogs! In relationships with dogs, he is extremely accommodating, yielding and conflict-free - he seeks support and self-confidence from them. Without the slightest problem, he will find himself in a house where a stable, gentle resident dog already lives, whose presence will certainly help Fakir overcome shelter fears faster. Unique gift of gratitude: Dogs that initially approach the world with distance, after breaking the ice, become the greatest, most faithful friends. The bond worked out with a fearful dog is the strongest and pure as tears. Fakir desperately dreams with his whole little, faithful heart about leaving the shelter box. Cold concrete is the worst place for healing a hurt, doggy soul. We are looking for a responsible, calm and empathetic home for him - a family that, without any pressure, giving him enough time, will give him an unshakeable sense of security and prove that the world can be beautiful.

Schroniskowa rzeczywistość – wszechobecny zgiełk, huk i szczekanie setek psów – bardzo go przytłaczają. Dlaczego skromny Fakir to przyjaciel wart każdej uwagi?

About FAKIR

What life with FAKIR looks like

FAKIR is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting FAKIR, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FAKIR?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FAKIR on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FAKIR if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FAKIR already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FAKIR isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know FAKIR and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
