adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Farandi has found a grace period! His story: Pummelchen Farandi doesn't know what befalls him. He is so confused – wherever he comes from and with what story he arrives at us – it has certainly shaped him. Farandi is something very special and is therefore searching for a very special family. Who will fall in love with our cute little boy? Farandi has already missed out on a lot in life at 11 years old, but we don't give up hope that he will find people who can still give him a few beautiful years. With his shoulder height of 50 cm, he belongs to the medium-sized dogs. He has been in the shelter for a long time, way too long, and time leaves its mark. Farandi is pulling away more and more, and we are afraid that he will give up on himself soon. Can there be no one out there who can take him in? Farandi is a very insecure male dog – it can be seen in his eyes. He does not like to be touched at all and whoever comes too close must expect that Farandi will also fight back. Farandi communicates very quickly how he is feeling, so he simply needs people who can understand him and respond to his communication. For Farandi, we are looking for an experienced home in a quiet environment. An enclosed garden would also be great, as Farandi probably cannot walk far at first. What are we looking for in his people? Patience, dog experience, patience, understanding, patience, empathy, oh – did we mention patience? Because that really is the key with our little guy. Farandi travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to his new home. He would also be very happy to go to a foster home! Who takes on the challenge of taking Farandi in and finally showing him the beautiful sides of life? Many thanks to Birgit D.! You support Farandi with a monthly sponsorship. As of: 15.04.

Was suchen wir in seinen Menschen? Lieben Dank Birgit D.! Du unterstützt Farandi mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Stand: 15.04.2024

About Farandi

What life with Farandi looks like

Farandi is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Farandi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Farandi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Farandi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Farandi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Farandi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Farandi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Farandi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
