Adopt Faust, m, Freigang, geb. 01-2016

Mixed Breed · Male

Faust is a feral find who was initially assessed as a fighter type. But Faust is at heart a bunting, a very affectionate tomcat who is more reserved with his current roommate. Faust would do best with an experienced individual or a quiet couple—children or a lot of commotion is definitely not what Faust dreams of. Sleep, eat, a small walk around the house, and then to the couch for some TV in the evening, perhaps lying in the sun or watching the butterflies under a tree in the shade—this would suit him more! Faust has tested FIV-positive, like many unneutered outdoor cats in the Odenwald. After settling in, he can also have a free roam, as he is not dangerous to other cats. He can only transmit the infection through bodily fluid exchange, but of course, he is now neutered (and vaccinated and microchipped). Faust can also age well as an FIV-positive tomcat. This cat needs outdoor access.

Frequently asked

Adopting Faust, m, Freigang, geb. 01-2016, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Faust, m, Freigang, geb. 01-2016?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TiNO — Tiere in Not Odenwald handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Faust, m, Freigang, geb. 01-2016 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Faust, m, Freigang, geb. 01-2016 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TiNO — Tiere in Not Odenwald will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Faust, m, Freigang, geb. 01-2016 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Faust, m, Freigang, geb. 01-2016 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TiNO — Tiere in Not Odenwald early rather than rehoming privately; they know Faust, m, Freigang, geb. 01-2016 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
