Felicity

Belgian Malinois · Female · Young · 2 years

Felicity – a delicate Malinois-mix dog is looking for active people to share her life with. Felicity raised her puppies at the animal shelter and has now finally taken the next step herself: she’s living on a foster care placement in Andalusia, where she’s slowly discovering just how wonderful life in a home can be. The roughly two-year-old Malinois-mix dog proves to be an absolute cuddlebug. She’d love nothing more than to snuggle right up to her people and spend as much time as possible with them. She’s very people-oriented and eager to please her humans. Initially, she’s a bit cautious around strangers, but she quickly warms up and thoroughly enjoys all the attention she receives. Meanwhile, Felicity is already house-trained and travels comfortably in the car. She makes every effort to do everything right—though of course, she also has a mischievous streak! She still needs consistent yet loving training to fully understand and accept all household boundaries. Felicity is a true explorer at heart: when she gets bored and sees an opportunity, she loves to go off on her own little adventures. A sufficiently high garden fence is therefore also essential. At the moment, her biggest challenge is probably a consequence of her strong bond with her people. Being left alone isn’t easy for her and should continue to be practiced gradually and patiently in her new home. With clear rules and good training, however, these issues can certainly be addressed successfully. Felicity is a petite dog, but there’s likely quite a bit of Malinois in her. Even though she’s physically finer-boned, that doesn’t make her a beginner’s dog. Malinois and their mixes are intelligent, sensitive, and highly active dogs who thrive on close collaboration with their humans. Felicity doesn’t just want to go for walks—she also wants to use her clever mind and be meaningfully engaged. We could easily imagine that she’d enjoy dog sports or other similar activities. For Felicity, we’re looking for sporty and active people who enjoy working with their dog and walking through life together—people who can provide her with clear structures while also appreciating her deep love for her humans. Felicity has already helped her puppies take their first steps into life. Now it’s her turn: she’s looking for people with whom she can finally feel at home, belong, and enjoy her own happy dog life.

About Felicity

What life with Felicity looks like

Felicity is a large young adult belgian malinois dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Felicity, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Felicity?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Felicity on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Felicity if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Felicity already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Felicity isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Felicity and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
