Felix (E.c. positiv)

Male · Senior · 9 years

Felix (weight approx. 1.4kg, male neutered) was surrendered to us due to a companion animal loss and housing relocation. We are looking for a quiet place for him with a similarly quiet rabbit companion. Felix is "only" 6 years old, but he already has a few ailments that unfortunately limit him and make him appear much older. Felix has a stenosis (nerve canal narrowing) in his pelvis, which makes his movements stiffer and prevents him from being very active. He receives pain medication on a permanent basis. Felix is a very nice guy and very sociable. We hope that there is a kind person out there who can offer Felix a cozy spot. A care contract would be possible. If you are interested, please contact us by email and attach a few photos of your enclosure and your rabbit's vaccination record.

About Felix (E.c. positiv)

What life with Felix (E.c. positiv) looks like

Felix (E.c. positiv) is a large senior rabbit waiting at Tierheim Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Felix (E.c. positiv), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Felix (E.c. positiv)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Düsseldorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Felix (E.c. positiv) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Felix (E.c. positiv) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Düsseldorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Felix (E.c. positiv) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Felix (E.c. positiv) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Düsseldorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Felix (E.c. positiv) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
