Felix

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Felix was found in a very touching state. Completely exhausted, sick and emaciated - at times it was unclear if he would even make it. But Felix wanted to live and fought his way back into life piece by piece. Today he is barely recognizable. ❤️ Felix is about 5 years old, about 51 cm tall and 25 kg heavy, neutered and a happy, friendly and incredibly optimistic dog. He is affectionate, open and affectionate towards people. He walks nicely on a leash and has already been able to experience trips into the city, where he behaved very well. Felix is very friendly and tolerant with other dogs, cats do not interest him according to previous observations. He also shows himself friendly with children. We do not know what Felix has experienced in his previous life. We suspect that he has not had much experience with living in a house and a normal family life. That's why we are looking for people who do not expect everything to work out perfectly from day one. Felix needs love, patience, security and a calm, clear accompaniment, to arrive at his own pace and learn all that may be self-evident for other dogs. We prefer a home in a quiet, rather rural area for Felix. An environment where he is not immediately confronted with countless new stimuli and people who give him the time he needs to build trust and really arrive. Felix has Leishmaniasis, was treated accordingly and is now well adjusted. He is currently very well and enjoys his new life. His future family should know that the Leishmaniasis should continue to be regularly checked. We are happy to provide interested parties with detailed information about Leishmaniasis, how to deal with it and the necessary checks, and we are also available after the

Heute erkennt man ihn kaum wieder.

About Felix

What life with Felix looks like

Felix is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. in Stuttgart.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Felix, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Felix?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Felix on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Felix if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Felix already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Felix isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Felix and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
