Adopt Ferb

Male · Senior · 9 years

Ferb is looking for a calm and patient home! Ferb is a dog aged approximately 10-12 years, weighing about 26 kg. He was taken in urgently from bad conditions, and the shelter environment greatly overwhelms him. He is a sensitive and withdrawn dog who does not immediately trust people. He is only beginning to learn what safe contact is and that the presence of a person can mean something good. He does not show aggression - his reaction to new situations is mainly fear and withdrawal. Ferb needs a calm home, patience, and time to slowly build trust. He will also require the support of a behaviorist who will help him work through his fears. He needs training and support with walking on a leash. For this reason, Ferb will not be a suitable candidate for living in a city center or a very busy place. He will best adapt to a home located in a quiet, peaceful area, where he can function at his own pace and without excessive stimuli. We are looking for an experienced caregiver and a calm home without children, where he can get to know the world at his own pace and eventually feel safe. Ferb really needs someone who will show him that life can be different. The description is written based on observations of the dog in the animal shelter. Ferb is under the care of OTOZ Animals animal shelter in Tczew. Registration number in the animal shelter: 284/25 The male is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and neutered.

Ferb szuka spokojnego i cierpliwego domu! Ferb to pies w wieku około 10-12 lat, ważący około 26 kg. Najlepiej odnajdzie się w domu położonym w cichej, spokojnej okolicy, gdzie będzie mógł funkcjonować we własnym rytmie i bez nadmiaru bodźców. Kontakt w sprawie adopcji: 58 531 96 56

About Ferb

What life with Ferb looks like

Ferb is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ferb, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ferb?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ferb on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ferb if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ferb already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ferb isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ferb and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
