Fern har siden sin ankomst på internatet været kælen. Vi har dog godt kunne mærke, at hun var i nye omgivelser, for hun blev hurtig forskrækket over alle de nye indtryk. Som de fleste katte skal Fern lige se nye mennesker an, før hun helt overgiver sig og lader sig blive kælet med. Hun elsker dog at blive nusset og er den slags kat, som gnider sig op ad benene på folk for at få opmærksomhed. Fern er en sød og mild kat, som vil passe i de fleste familier. Vi har dog ikke set Fern sammen med mindre børn endnu, så det er vigtigt, at Fern får lov til at møde børnene på internatet inden en eventuel adoption. Fern har kortvarigt været ude i et nyt hjem, men da hendes nye ejer viste sig at være allergisk, er Fern kommet retur til internatet. Vi fik dog fortalt, at Fern allerede havde nået at charmere sig ind på familien, så det var en trist ejer, som måtte aflevere hende igen. Fern har taget det hele i bedste Fern-stil. Hun leger og hygger sig med de andre katte, og er stadig den samme søde kat. Fern skal på sigt have adgang til udelivet.
