Fernandez was repeatedly sighted wandering peacefully. Nobody knows where he came from or anything about his past life. A passerby reported maggots falling off Fernandez's body. Fortunately, the imposing male is a big cat lover. So he always joined the cats that come to the Refugio for food. Here he could finally be secured. At the vet, the extent of his injuries became clear. Fernandez was shot, several projectiles stuck in his ear and were surgically removed. The tissue on the right ear was so much eaten by maggots that it could not be saved. The amputated ear healed very well and does not pose a problem for Fernandez. Currently, a knee OP on the right hind leg's cruciate ligament is still pending, for which money is currently being collected in a donation campaign. Fernandez behaves absolutely socially and calmly with the other dogs in the Refugio. Mona, his slender Podenca girlfriend, can even take her daily sunbath on the bear-like Fernandez. As soon as Fernandez settles comfortably in the run-out, Mona comes and takes her place on him, as if he were a comfortable cushion. He takes care of his pack. Just like fellow dogs and cats, Fernandez likes people very much. However, he is not a dog by character who wants to be cuddled and cuddled all day. He comes independently and picks up his pats when he thinks it's time again. Fernandez could be placed in single housing, but would very much like to be in a social dog group. The stately Fernandez is definitely looking for a rural home with a lot of greenery and space. A life in the city would absolutely not make him happy. Beschreibung Unsere Tierschützer berichten: Fernandez wurde immer wieder friedlich umherstreifend gesichtet. Niemand weiß, woher er kam und auch über sein bisheriges Leben ist nichts bekannt. Ein Passant berichtete von herabfallenden Maden, von Fernandez Körper. Glücklicherweise ist der imposante Rüde ein großer Katzenfreund. So kam es, dass er sich immer zu den Katzen gesellt hat, die zum Refugio zum fressen kommen. Hier konnte er schließlich gesichert werden. Beim Tierarzt wurde dann das Ausmaß seiner Verletzung ersichtlich. Fernandez wurde angeschossen, mehrere Projektile steckten in seinem Ohr und wurden operativ entfernt. Das Gewebe am rechten Ohr war so sehr von Maden zerfressen, dass dieses nicht mehr erhalten werden konnte. Das amputierte Ohr verheilte sehr gut und stellt für Fernandez kein Problem dar. Aktuell steht noch eine Knie OP am Kreuzband des rechten Hinterbeines aus, für die gerade in einer Spendenaktion das benötigte Geld gesammelt wird. Fernandez verhält sich absolut sozial und ruhig mit den anderen Hunden im Refugio. Mona, seine zierliche Podenca Freundin, darf sogar sitzend auf dem bärigen Fernandez ihr tägliches Sonnenband nehmen. Sobald Fernandez sich im Auslauf gemütlich ablegt, kommt Mona und nimmt auf ihm Platz, als wäre er ein bequemes Kissen. Er kümmert sich um sein Rudel. Genau wie Artgenossen und Katzen, mag Fernandez Menschen sehr gerne. Allerdings ist er vom Charakter her kein Hund, der den ganzen Tag gekuschelt und geknuddelt werden möchte. Er kommt eigenständig und holt sich seine Streicheleinheiten ab, wenn er befindet, dass es wieder an der Zeit ist. Fernandez könnte in Einzelhaltung vermittelt werden, kann aber sehr gerne in eine soziale Hundegruppe. Der stattliche Fernandez sucht auf jeden Fall ein ländliches zu Hause mit viel Grün und viel Platz. Ein Leben in der Stadt würde ihn absolut nicht glücklich machen. Wir wünschen uns für ihn ein Leben auf dem Land, mit Menschen, die seine Eigenständigkeit schätzen. Wir vermuten, dass in dem lieben Fernandez einige Herdenschutzhund (HSH)-Gene stecken könnten.
