Fibi

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Fibi is a neutered female dog originally from Romania. She was rescued by animal welfare organizations. Upon arriving in Germany, Fibi lived on a sanctuary farm but was unable to stay there for long. When Fibi came to us, she was very uncertain and didn't trust humans at all. With the help of another dog, which Fibi could orient herself around, we were able to show her that not all humans are bad. She is now overjoyed when she sees a familiar person. Currently, we are teaching Fibi everyday things like wearing a collar and leash, being brushed, entering a building, and more. We are looking for dog-experienced people who can take the time to gain Fibi's trust and help her discover the world. She gets along with other dogs depending on their compatibility. Children over 14 who are familiar with dog handling are no problem. Who is ready to give sweet Fibi a warm bed, safety, and security?

DE·Show original

About Fibi

What life with Fibi looks like

Fibi is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Wolfenbüttel in Wolfenbuettel.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fibi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fibi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Wolfenbüttel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fibi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fibi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Wolfenbüttel will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Fibi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fibi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Wolfenbüttel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fibi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
