Adopt Fielmann

Puli · Male · Senior · 9 years

📍 Current Location: Upper Austria Fielmann is a neutered Puli-mixed-breed male dog born late 2011, originally from Hungary, who found a good home in Upper Austria a few years ago. Unfortunately, his owner passed away unexpectedly, and the charming senior is once again on the search. Even though he is named Fielmann, he has no vision problems. Additionally, his teeth were just recently fixed. He is a “snuggly teddy bear,” highly people-oriented, and can never get enough cuddles. He is grateful for any kind of affection and always wants to be there for his people, is happy, and is always up for fun. Fielmann loves going for walks. His only flaw is that he wants to protect and defend his primary caregiver from other dogs on these walks. In such situations, he tries to get to the other dog and barks. He is house-trained and rides politely in the car. At the moment, he is living problem-free with some fellow animals and gets along well with them. Even when meeting other male dogs, he remains calm. Are you looking for a lifelong companion? Fielmann is a faithful companion who deserves the chance to snuggle with loving people.

About Fielmann

What life with Fielmann looks like

Fielmann is a medium-sized senior puli dog waiting at Animal Care Austria in Wien.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fielmann, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fielmann?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Austria handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fielmann on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fielmann if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Austria will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fielmann already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fielmann isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Austria early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fielmann and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
